I’ve wanted to create a blog for the longest time now. In fact, last year I actually did it; I created a blog, published two blog posts, but then immediately deleted everyting. The reason? FEAR. I was constantly racked with thoughts like, “What will people to me think of my blog and posts, what will other bloggers think?” or “Am I ridiculing myself here?” Yes, these thoughts crossed my mind until I finally decided to leave the blog. But, now I am here again and this time I will stay.
FROM NOW ON – NO MORE FEAR
I’ve decided that from now on I’ll do whatever I want to do! In the end, it does not matter what other people think of you. At the end of the day, I have to be content with myself and with what I do. I don’t have to please anyone. So just take all the courage and start something that you’ve been putting off for years. Many people are afraid of failure, but as you know, you only fail if you do not even try!
TAKE BACK YOUR POWER
Have you ever noticed that if you can’t “do something” because you are simply to scared of what other people might say to you, you actually give those people a lot of power over you? You basically put your interests and your future into the hands of others. This thought has been on my mind constantly lately and I came to the conclusion that I no longer want to allow other people to decide for me what I can do and what not, I don’t want to depend on them in such a way.
JUST START
Switch off your brain, tame the noises, and just go for it. Sounds easier than it is, right? What helps me the most is to listen to some good mood music and read positive affirmations over and over again. On Pinterest, Instagram and Tumblr there are plenty of them anyway. One of my favorite quotes and really thought-provoking is this:
“your world is a living expression of how you are using and have used your mind.”
These are my thoughts and suggestions on how to start something even when you’re scared. How do you deal with the fear of starting something new? Or have you not struggled with this before? I would be very happy about your feedback!
